Morning stillness, kept simple
How you spend the first ten minutes of your day tends to set the tone for the rest of it. Most of us spend them on a screen, absorbing other people's urgency before we have had a single thought of our own.
Protect the first ten minutes
You do not need a whole new routine. You need to defend a small window before the noise gets in. The single most useful change most people can make is this: do not reach for your phone first. Let your own mind wake up before the world's does.
A five-minute start
Water before scrolling. A glass of water and a slow stretch before anything with a screen.
Three slow breaths. Longer out than in. It is the fastest way to tell your nervous system the day is not an emergency.
One intention. Not a to-do list — a single word for how you want to move through the day. Calm. Patient. Present. Whatever you need.
Get dressed in something easy. Reach for the thing that asks nothing of you. Comfort in the morning is not indulgence; it is one less friction between you and a good start.
Small, repeated, yours
None of this is impressive. That is the point. A small practice you actually keep beats a perfect one you abandon by Thursday. Five minutes, most mornings, is enough to change the shape of a day — and a life is mostly made of days.
Our shirt The Essence was cut for exactly these hours: pared back, soft, and easy to reach for before you are fully awake.
